So because he's a power hitter, he has better plate discipline?I guess you never understood my explanation between contact and plate discipline. Why do you think power hitters strikeout more then guys like Ichiro and Polanco?
As long as Steinbrenner is running the team it won't happen. He passed on Guerrero for Sheffield, which really didn't bite him in the ***, but Vlad would've been in for the long haul. The problem with New York is, they won't tolerate a losing season. Cleveland had their run, but then had to strip down the team and rebuild. New Yorkers can't handle a 4 year down time to rebuild. The Yankees have no one really to build their franchise around, and the only player they have that could fit that bill, they are booing and running him out of town. Detroit needs a SS and A-rod would definitely fit the bill.Good thing there is no end to the game of baseball, there is next year, and the next.. and so on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Hopefully someone in the yankee organization will come to their senses and quit buying the gezers, and get some young prospects. lol
For one you are twisting my words. I said just because Ichiro strikes out less, doesn't mean he has more plate discipline then Granderson. Granderson has more walks per at-bat then Ichiro, so that would tell me that Ichiro puts the ball in play more then Granderson, meaning better contact, it doesn't mean Ichiro has better recognition of the strike zone. Just watch the two players. Ichiro just throws the bat at the ball just looking to make contact. Granderson has a longer swing and will swing through breaking pitches and fastballs. There is a difference between being a good contact hitter and disciplined hitter. So because he's a power hitter, he has better plate discipline?
You haven't given any reason as to why he has better plate discipline, except for:
a) he's a power hitter
b) he has 3 more walks over the whole season
I fail to see how that means he has better plate discipline. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
