I just explained the difference in their swings. Why do you thing power hitters strike out more? They take longer swings and swing through fastballs or breaking pitches. Guys like Ichiro and Polanco who choke up and just look to throw the bat on the ball are better contact hitters. Doesn't mean they know the strike zone more then the power hitters.I'm not saying that...but you can't say he's more disciplined because he had 3 more walks over 150+ games. He also had double the strikeouts, which tends to tell me that he's not as disciplined as Ichiro.
Granderson. What are the chances Ichiro hits a walkoff HR?Ichiro or Granderson with 2 outs in the 9th
seriously dude
I agree, but I'll take the power over the slap and run any day.and suzuki has done what no others have done
So Granderson is a better disciplined hitter because.....?I just explained the difference in their swings. Why do you thing power hitters strike out more? Same could be said about David Ortiz. Who would you rather have, Ortiz or Ichiro in the same situation?what are the chances he would strike out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I already explained it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gifSo Granderson is a better disciplined hitter because.....?
Ortiz and Granderson are 2 different hittersSame could be said about David Ortiz. Who would you rather have, Ortiz or Ichiro in the same situation?
But Ortiz is more likely to strikeout like you mentioned. So you'd still go with Ichiro over Ortiz because he is a better contact hitter?Ortiz and Granderson are 2 different hitters
Ortiz is proven clutch
same can be said with Jeter
but I still would go with contact //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Where?!?!?I already explained it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
If I had time I'd look up the pitches per at-bat, and the contact to swing ratio, and how many times each player swung at pitches out of the zone. I know they have these stats but I'm pressed for time.Where?!?!?
You talked about Granderson's swing...you didn't say how exactly he is more disciplined, save for his 3 more walks over the course of the season...
Well put the names aside, or say Granderson played in Tampa Bay, and not in Detroit...if you saw the stats, side by side-If I had time I'd look up the pitches per at-bat, and the contact to swing ratio, and how many times each player swung at pitches out of the zone. I know they have these stats but I'm pressed for time.
