**The MLB Thread**

over 100 at-bats, that is 35 hits compared to 30. I'll take the doubles, triples, homeruns, over the singles.
The only reason he had a higher OBP is because of the BA. Granderson still had more walks. Ichiro is a better contact hitter then Granderson, not necessarily a more disciplined hitter.

Granderson had 3 more walks dude...

how can you take Granderson over Ichiro

you would be fired if you were a GM

20 million vs. 410k? I'll take the power and the 410k salary if I was GM.

I know and that shows that Ichiro isn't really more disciplined. He is a better contact hitter. Hence why he has a better BA and OBP. He also has more speed and beats out more infield singles, but Granderson still has good speed.

Look at Slugging % and OPS. Granderson is well ahead of Ichiro there.

true

but he wont be making $410k forever //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

ok...if they both were getting the same amount of cash....would you pick Curtis?

So it's the 3 additional walks, not the 75 additional strikeouts, that prove Curtis is more disciplined //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I'd take 49 walks and 70 strikeouts over 52 walks and 140 strikeouts...but that's just me..

If Granderson was making 20 million? No, but if they were both 10 million a year players, I'd take Granderson. Granderson has more potential. He is only completed 2 full seasons and is younger then Ichiro. Ichiro has hit his peak and will only decline. Granderson has just entered his prime.

I dunno meng

I would rather have what is than what could be

Curtis could just be a flash in the pants ya know

Ichiro is proven...shyt...he is in the history books

So you wouldn't take Alex Rodriguez, Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz etc? They all strikeout over 100 times.

If you watch both players, Granderson has a much longer swing then Ichiro, because he hits for more power, that means he'll swing and miss more then Ichiro who just slaps at the ball. Discipline and contact are two different things.

Granderson is in the history books. He's done something that only a select few like Willie Mays have done.

Also Granderson is not a free agent, he won't become a free agent till after he plays a few more seasons and then he'll be "proven" You asked me to make the decision now, and based on what he has doen in his short career, I'd have to say IU'd take Granderson.

I'm not saying that...but you can't say he's more disciplined because he had 3 more walks over 150+ games. He also had double the strikeouts, which tends to tell me that he's not as disciplined as Ichiro.
