**The MLB Thread**

Lee, who has been a quailty starter over the last few years came into this season as the #2 starter. Then he goes like 2-4 with an astronomical ERA and then gets hurt, comes back and raises his already astronomical ERA higher. Then he goes down to the minors comes back in the pen and some how raises it higher! So you may have injuries, but you take a good season from him of around 14 wins with what the rest of rotation has done and Cleveland would have run away with the divison eons ago and no doubt had the best record in baseball.
Then we had high hopes on Nixon signing him and he got hurt and came back and sucked it up. Why else do you think Franklin Gutierrez is in right field? He was in the minors at the beginning of the year.

Marte who was supposed to start this year had a big injury and we had to revamp the whole line-up just about. Thank god, I was never big on him, but Cleveland seems to be.

Then our 2nd baseman situation was horrible until Asdrubal Cabrera was brought up, but Barfield played the majority of the season.

Then you talk about our best hitter, which isnt Hafner like he is god almighty. I love him, but he has had a very dissappointing year. Guy had 40 homeruns last year and missed a shit ton of games. He has a healthy year and sucks! Sorry 24 homeruns from your power hitter is not cutting it!

Then you talk about Perez, again another person that was brought up late in the season, same with Jenson Lewis. Then Fultz who was hurt for a long time too.

My point is, not like we didnt have key injuries and players that were brought up. Hell our 5th starter is a rookie that took over Lee's spot a while ago. Granted he has pitched better than him, but just another rookie.

These are all the people brought up

Gutierrez

Cabrera

Lewis

Perez

Laffey

All of them starting or helping out in the bullpen. So dont give me a sap story about how you had too many injuries or rookies coming in. We have had our fair share of it too, just seems we have better talent up and coming.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif
You just don't get it. High hopes from Nixon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Detroit lost 4 of it's 5 starters. Rogers, Bonderman, Robertson, and Maroth. The Tigers power hitter is Magglio with 28. Sheffield has missed a lot of time which is Detroit's 2nd best hitter, plus losing 2 of the better relievers in the game. Give me a break. Cleveland has not had as many injuries as Detroit.

K since you can't seem to grasp the english language. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I never once said anything about Cleveland having more injuries than Detriot, said we have had our fair share. Also have quite a few rookies doing there thing, but still rookies.

Also I dont really care how many homeruns you hit if you are driving in like a 130 rbis a year, lol! Who gives a shit! Magg had a monster year! I would take those numbers over 40 homers a year any year.

Who is the two better relievers in the game?:laugh:Zumaya? When he did play he sucked! Rodney? Not much better. Please, I would take Betancourt and Perez over either of those guys.

Also Robertson pitched most of the year as well as Bonderman. I mean he had what 28 starts? And how are you gonna put in **** *** Maroth? He got traded a long, long time ago and isnt even on your team, lol! Rogers was about the only huge injury you had in your rotation. When you get close to 30 starts in a season is considered a pretty healthy year. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

That case you have Lee in our istance or Sowers who started in the rotation. One had 13 and the other a little more. Cant remember, but come on! Oh yeah forgot about Westbrook, how had less starts than Bonderman and was one of the hottest pitchers in the league not to long ago. PleasE!

Bonderman spent 15 days on the DL 1st half of the season and has been shelfed the 2nd half. Robertson spent 30 days on the DL, Rogers had missed most of the season, Zumaya had been injured nearly the whole season and still isn't 100%. Rodney was one of the better relievers last year and had 2 15 day DL stints, and he has finally got back to form. Sheffield is still injured, Guillen is injured hence why he is playing 1B.

Mets fighting till the end unlike the Tigers

Verlander had 32 starts. Robertson going in on his 30th against Chicago. Bonderman at 28, then Durbin who goes back and forth had 19. Rogers 11, Miller 13 and 13 by **** *** Maroth who got traded.(Wasnt injured)

CC had 34, Fausto 32, Byrd 31, Westbrook 25, Lee 16 and Sowers 13. Then add in Laffey at 8.

Both clubs have had injuries at their spots and or have had pitchers **** ***. It just was a matter who came back and pitched better and while Cleveland proved that. Westbrook pitched outstanding once he came back. Then our rookies who were called up have been a heck of a surprise in Perez and Lewis. Is a good sign of things to come.
