**The MLB Thread**

you have no proof mcgwire took steroids, and you seem way to naive. many players took steroids. this is the steroids era, so where do we draw the line on who did and who didn't?
x2!

It always comes down to fawking politics! I mean the guy deserves it through and through, but because he is as big as he is and he had some amazing numbers and because he pleaded the 5th means that he dosent deserve to be in is the most absurd bunch of bs I have heard!

He is one of the greatest homerun hitters of all time.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
7th. yea he has 583 homeruns, but only 1626 career hits, 263 career hitter, average defensively, had about 3-4 good years. i'd vote him into the hall of fame, but i don't think is first ballot hall of famer

Granted he has had some very up and down years, but he has always been able to knock the ball out of the park, yes he is 7th, but he could have played more years if it wasnt for injuries and such.

he's not a well rounded player. all he could do was hit homeruns. finished second in mvp voting once. a guy like ripken is a better player then mcgwire. 400 homeruns, 3000 hits, gold gloves out the ***. even palmeiro, 3000 hits 500 homeruns.

I agree, but still he is one of the powerhouses in baseball and should get in. It is just imo though. Seems like a lot of people think he should get in.

it's part of the constituional rights. palmeiro looked the judge in the face, pointed his finger and said "i did not take steroids" well come to find out, he tests positive for steroids.
LAWL, I know he is ALLOWED to, the question I posed to you is why did he?

And the Palmeiro issue is irrelevant to whether or not Mac did.

What IS BS is the fact that the feds have a woody to get Bonds on perjury but don't seem to be the least bit interested in going after Palmeiro. Criminy, NOONE goes to trial for perjury and they are going after Bonds like he was Al-freaking-Capone.

It was illegal (against the law), gave the users an unfair and unnatural advantage and was just wrong! They KNEW it was wrong, otherwise why try so hard to cover it up?
Again, I certainly don't think Mac should be banned, as I said, but if you think that he owes his numbers to pharmaceutical chicanery than the very numbers which one uses to evaluate his performance are invalid.

And of course the owners are not faultless any more than I would be faultless if I bought a stereo system that I knew had been stolen. .
im talking about baseball not the actual law i am talking about baseball in itself and by that im not talking about the players i am talking about drug tests and the obvious bulking up and dont play it off as "those people" didnt know. the way that it comes out and how hard it was for baseball to even want do anything proves my point............they did zilch until forced to by the feds.

"But just because I know its stolen when I buy it, that doesn't pardon the thief for stealing it" but the players who didnt do it yet stood by doing nothing are what? in many cases they would be considered an accessory to crime no?

you'd have to prove palmeiro was on steroids when he said that. we all know he was, but how can you prove it?

True, still I would rather my government focused on catching terrorists than giving Barry a hard time. Point being, why the hell are they so obsessed with gettin' Barry? Oh yeah, Congressmen do whatever they think increases their chances to get re-elected so they can keep all those legal bribes coming in. Their constituents hate Barry so they wanna hate on Barry too.

HOWEVER, don't get all Big Mac on me and dodge the question... WHY did he choose to take the 5th?
