**The MLB Thread**

new york yankees will be in the playoffs i hate them but there is noway they wont make the playoffs (i would love to be wrong but ..)
i think they can miss the playoffs. boston is better and new york didn't make any moves to improve. pettitie is a good replacement for johnson, but their puitching staff still isn't great and they lost sheffield. i doubt humberto sanchez will ever pitch for new york. he was just a piece they acquired so they can spin for another veteran. with the central being a much better division, i see the wild card coming out of the central

red sox dont have that great of a pen though papalbon is a starter now and faulke left....
new york's isn't any better. they got rivera but no one to get the ball to him. boston has solid middle relief, and their rotation is better then new york's and they a more balanced offense then new york.

detroit's bullpen is looking good this year. all they need is 5 innings from their starters, then they can go mesa, rodney, zumya, jones

what are your pics for the playoffs next year?

Mets and the Braves are in the same division. And to whomever is picking the Cubs to win their division I laugh at that. I know anything can happen but I just don't see them ever staying healthy all year and take the division. Houston and St. Louis are too tough.

nl central sucks. st. louis lost their starting rotation. all they have is carpenter. houston lost pettetite and clemens, so by default chicago wins i guess.
