nope and his career year came in 2004. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif when he was an all-star. since coming to detroit since from 04 till now guillen has put up numbers that are very similar, if not better then derek jeter, but 2006 was not a career year.Well, take some solace in the fact that he probably just had his career year. Any studs at SS in the Tigers' pipeline?
Cleveland got a good 2nd baseman in Barfield. I really think that was a good pick up. Young and has good power and speed and looks to be a decent fielder to boot. Then adding Dellucci who has power is a good pick up as well. Then that got a couple relievers too. Names not coming to me at this moment, but they have been one of the more active teams this off season.tigers have had the best off-season. got sheffield relatively cheap considering the free agent market, singed inge and bonderman to extensions that were at pretty good prices, only lost jamie walker from the world series. not too thrilled about the casey signing but there really wasn't anyone better available where the tigers didn't have to give up a lot. minnesota lost radke and liriano, chicago hasn't done anything, cleveland added dellucci which isn't anything special, so detroit set themselves to make a run at the division again
dellucci had one season where he hit 29 homeruns but really hasn't done anything else power wise. he's a solid defender and a good obp guy. there was talk about upgrading monroe with dellucci but he obviously went to cleveland. don't think detroit wanted to commit 3 years to him with maybin waiting in the wings. cleveland still didn't do anything with their rotation, and hopefully cc sabathia will finally have a consistant season .Cleveland got a good 2nd baseman in Barfield. i never really cared about mesa till he joined the tigers so this wasn't something that would interest me. why the tigers signed him is questionable, however it allows the tigers to shorten the game, with mesa, rodney, zumya, jonesold news.
