White Sox FTS. (for the sweep)

Yeah. 5.5 games back. Still a lot, but we play detroit another 7 times. Not saying we are going to catch them, but ****, we still don't have that big of a lead in the wild card.

Tiger fans are nowhere to be found after a loss. Eventually they will show up making excuses. The only valid excuse...the White Sox were the better team this series. We've got to continue this run and go beat up on KC. Can't go in there thinking we are gonna stomp them or they may take a game or two.

The NL east is boring. The Mets already have it locked up. The NL wild card and AL East/Central/Wild Card are where it's at right now.
lol...yep, we have no comp

I think we have the NL locked //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The Mets' $oriano in 2007?

WASHINGTON - The Mets repeatedly tried to trade for Alfonso Soriano during his final two years in Texas, but they refused to give up Jose Reyes, Scott Kazmir or Lastings Milledge.

Once this season is over, however, all Soriano will cost the Mets is money, and that makes a return to New York a strong possibility.

The Mets will be looking for a second baseman and leftfielder this offseason, and Soriano, out of necessity, has learned to handle both positions adequately. Asked yesterday which position he would prefer, Soriano, already thinking about the negotiating process, wisely left his options open.

"If somebody wants me to play second base next year, I can go back there," Soriano said. "But now I can play the outfield, too. It depends on what the team wants me to do."

Soriano reluctantly switched from second base to the outfield when the Rangers traded him to Washington, but now he feels comfortable enough to stay there. While he's no Gold Glover, Soriano makes up for any defensive shortcomings with his lethal bat. After last night's 6-4 loss to the Mets, Soriano is hitting .289 with 37 home runs, 75 RBIs and 28 stolen bases.

Manager Willie Randolph was in charge of tutoring Soriano when he first broke in with the Yankees, and he said yesterday that his former student was a capable second baseman. Said Randolph, "I don't think he ever hurt a team defensively."

LOL...do the Mets really need him??

imagine that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

WASHINGTON -- When the Mets placed Cliff Floyd on the 15-day disabled list last week, the reaction of the Diamondbacks was to contact the Mets to revisit an interest in Shawn Green the Mets had shown previously, according to a person familiar with recent talks between the clubs.

The person suggested any movement toward bringing Green to the Mets would happen later in the month, but, of course, before the Aug. 31 deadline for establishing postseason rosters. The Mets want to see how Floyd and his Achilles tendinitis respond to inactivity before making a move that might cost them young talent that hardly is in abundance in their system.

There also is the matter of Green's contract, which includes a limited no-trade provision and guarantees him a 2007 salary of $9.5 million and has a $2 million buyout for the following season. The Mets "don't see Green as an $11 million player," the person said. They would want the D-Backs to assume some responsibility for the remaining obligation. Moreover, Green is understood to have an aversion to playing in New York.

The person called the talks "something that could get warmer. But not yet," and acknowledged the Mets had interest in Green before Floyd's Achilles became an issue.

hmmmmmmmmmm.....interesting!
