**The MLB Thread**

thats a bold move!

they have that much confidence in him?

I mean he has more arrests than catches so far this season //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
I agree with you to a point. The Steelers as an organization are one of the smartest in the league when it comes to handling players, especially the troblesome ones. You'll remember that he was arrested BEFORE they signed him. I'm sure they had a long talk and added clauses in his contract where his "off the field" problems will also affect his pay. Not to mention I'm sure his 2 arrests have already affected his pay and he probably got less money because of them. I can't say for sure how good he is going to be but if Bill Cowher and the Steelers can't keep him in line then it would be safe to say that not many others in the league can. Also, did you follow him much when he was at OSU?? He's not bad at all. He has alot of raw talent and if they develop that in Pittsburgh he could be more than a replacement for Randle El.

I have seen him in college...he is very talented! I was happy to see Pittsburgh trading for him.

But the NFL is a totally different atmosphere.

I hope the Steelers know what they are doing.....and I hope Santonio shines (he has 5 years with us now)

BTW...I think Randle El will do great in Washington.

You guys have a good one in Santonio Holmes. I have seen him play live at an Ohio State game and he is one of the better ones that came out of the draft. Now for the way he handles the real life game, then he better get his act together. Good player though. I wish we had him. Looks like Brylon Edwards is out till late October. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I see Braylon is underachieving as usual.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif I thought he'd be different in the NFL but I could be wrong.

That would **** as he was considered one of the best coming out of college and had a lot of hype around here as turning into a superstar. Same thing can be said about Kellen Winslow Jr., who I think is even a bigger dissappointment so far. Oh well its Cleveland. We dont have the best of luck around here. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I think its safe to say that we got the division

Kind of odd to say that being Atlanta has owned it what the last decade plus, lol! I give the Mets credit this year though, having a good year. See how long it last though. In the National league I like San Diego. Just cause I can. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

If Detroit hangs on Sox will regain lead of Wild Card.
Yes the Tigers held on and yes the Sox are currently back in the lead. The Sox definitely have a fight on their hands for the rest of the season with pretty much the Tigers are the only kryptonite for the Twins.

We still play the Twins and Yankees IIRC. So there will be plenty of opportunities. Unless the Tigers struggle, I'm more worried about what the Twins and Yankees do right now. I don't think the Yankees pitching staff is good enough to get them into the post season, but you never know. Randy looked horrible tonight, either he's very tired, or his arm was in a different slot. He was leaving pitches up and all over the place.
