**The MLB Thread**

I have nothing against the Indians...they are a great team

I just think that the Rockies deserve the WS more
based on what? since the red sox won now we have the longest world series drought in baseball....hell i think cleveland teams have the longest drought in all of professional sports!!!

Pittsburgh Pirates of the late 80s had the best team assembled....that didnt win shyt

ah i thought i heard on espn it was the indians ....guess not

STILL WE NEED A TITLE DAMMIT!!!! before cheap *** dolan lets this team go

this is what i hate about the red sox this year lol back to back to back home runs and really nothing else and 1 really bad inning pitching..... eeeekkkkkk on the bright side though if cleveland goes it wouldnt bug me too much because either team in the series NEEDS a world series. red sox got theirs and as long as the yanks dont get another within 10 yrs im happy lol

You don't understand. Cleveland is not a big market. It's like the 25th largest market in the country. Detroit is 10th and Chicago is 3rd, so the Indians have to compete with two bigger market teams in there own division, and in fact, Cleveland isn't even the largest city in Ohio for Christ sakes. The team simply doesn't generate enough revenue to support the salaries you want. The team has competed with Detroit and Chicago, and has competed with New York and Boston, so I think Cleveland management is doing a good job considering they have competed for over a decade.

BTW......do you think the Bills could beat the Ravens this Sunday?

I hope ya'll do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah, if we play to win, because we ALWAYS play not to lose

We should have beat Dallas and Denver, making us 3-2, but Offense has been really bad!! Man if you could take away 5 seconds on teh Bills season, Id be alot happier

But Sunday Willis is coming back to town, and its my bday, and i want a win, im a season ticket holder and its been a rough emotional year this year, but all of our mistakes can be corrected!

GO BILLS!!

im not saying go out there and spend money like the yanks do.....but i would like to see a couple core guys stay like CC, sizemore, hafner......it just sucks every 5th season having to re learn the entire lineup!!!!

back when the indians were winning the central every year i dont understand how you cant afford to pay a couple big salaries....when they were winning all the time you couldnt touch a ticket in cleveland, merchandise couldnt stay on the shelves, and downtown stayed busy no matter what day of the week it was during the summer....i mean it got to the point that in dec. when tickets went on sale they had to do a lottery for your place in line like they do for the playoffs and tickets sold out for the entire season in a matter of hours.....at 25-50 bucks a pop for single game tickets, 100 for club seats in a 45k seat stadium, and 7 dollars for a hot dog, 8 bucks for a 16 oz beer, wheres that money going!!!!! someones getting paid.

They just signed Hafner to a 4 year extension, and Sizemore is under their control through 2010. Teams get their money through TV contracts. Cleveland is not a big enough market to get the big TV contracts. Cleveland could not afford to give Manny Ramirez 8 years and 160 million. They offered Manny 15 million per. Albert Belle was the same deal. Jim Thome was a different situation because the team was rebuilding. The Indians won 6 division championships in 7 years. They had their run, and then rebuilt and are back. I cannot believe you are *****ing about the Indians management.
