**The MLB Thread**

you should focus your concern on chicago even making the playoffs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif can't believe your talking shit when chicago isn't even in the playoffs. rogers did pitch well against chicago. also this isn't texas. it doesn't get as hot here as texas and comerica is not a hitters park. also rogers wasn't terrible in the second half. he was 4-4 last year and 6-6 the year before. also before he was in texas he went 6-3 the second half with minnesota. many pitchers have got worn out playing down in texas.
Are you blind? Last 6 starts his ERA is 9.71. That is not good, not even close to good. Not even decent. It's pitiful. Age is catching up and he's leaving pitches up and out over the plate. I saw the highlights of the game last night. The only game he actually pitched decent in was against the White Sox, but he was leaving pitches up in that game as well. White Sox just aren't hitting the ball like they had been. In the last month, his ERA went from 3.17 to 4.45. Not talking shit about him, just pointing out that I had said he wouldn't pitch nearly as well the 2nd half. BTW, white sox are far from being out of the playoffs.

oh well detroit is 8.5 games up in the division. if the playoffs started today chicago is out. no way hell would i take chicago in a one game playoff against minnesota

kenny rogers impact goes way beyond what he does on the field. he has been a mentor to these young pitchers. also when you give up 7 runs 1/3 of an inning, that'll drive up your era and makes that stat a little misleading

That stat isn't misleading at all. Look at his last 6 outings. He hasn't gone more than 6 innings and has given up.....7,1,5,4,5,5 runs. Do the math. Kansas City, Oakland, & Pittsburgh were 3 of those teams. Then you can throw Cleveland in there and the *** whoopin they put on him. Want to know whats worse? Before today Buerhle had given up 19 ER in 19 Innings.

you go and worry about kenny rogers while chicago continues to fall

"Improving" your roster doesn't mean it will pay dividends. If that was the case the White Sox ERA wouldn't be 18th in the ML.

lol your a piece of work. what the hell does that mean? the tigers improved themselves by bringing dimitri young back and you bring up the sox era for some reason

I'm just trying to tell you all this boasting you are doing about your pitching staff, that one of your starters isn't pitching very good. Imagine what would happen if Verlander or Bonderman started pitching like Rogers. I'll finish this convo later.

lmao why do you think the tigers pitching is gonna collapse? why don't you worry about your pitching staff getting on track

What does it have to do? The White Sox brought in Vasquez improving there starting rotation, moving McCarthy in the bullpen also improved there bullpen. But those moves didn't help the White Sox at all. They have a higher ERA than they did last year, and probably would have more losses if it wasn't for Jim Thome, but don't forget we also lost Frank Thomas. So we haven't gained a whole lot more from getting Thome compared to what Frank is doing this year with Oakland.
