Could just be a defect, it happens on occasion even in the best amps. I don't see that amp failing for no reason at a low volume if something wasn't wrong from the factory.

i dont know what i want to do yet

i like the goliath,but i dont want to keep having trouble

but i dont know what other amps to get around the same price/power, i dont want to lose any power

i thought about 2x kicker 2500.1s but i dont know where to find 2 used ones

maybe 2 orion 2500ds or hcca5000s

2 20.1s but i would have run each at 1.4, so it wouldnt do much

what ever amps either 1 @ .7ohms or 2 amps each at 1.4/.35

i saw 2 hk4000s for 800$ but i dont know anythign about them

i want a half decent efficient amp

2 yellow tops wont feed that amp hell 2 yellow tops wont feed my colossus. i got a yellow top and a edc1700 and a 200 amp H/O alt and i still have voltage probs. get more batterys and a bigger alt

Running at low impedance will cause lot of amp draw, which if electrical system is not sufficient, causes major voltage drop, which will cause even more current draw, which will cause magic smoke.

I am sure I could repair it for a decent price if you can't get it warranteed.

it actually wasnt that bad unless volume was up up

3 batts total and stock alt was a 130a, 2 runs of 1/0

I believe they are safe that low daily, IF you have the electrical current, and bank of batteries to back it up.

I'm just wondering how many more times this has to happen before the manufacturer stands up and takes ownership for an obvious defect in this line of amplifier??? This is at least the 6th or 7th time I have seen a XX-Goliath cook itself at little or no volume. Maxxsonics needs to seriously take a closer look at this $1900 paperweight.

I apologize if any Maxxsonics personnel read this, but this problem has occurred one too many times and to multiple people.
