The future of my trunk....

There's enough room to mount BOTH of those amps upside down to your rear deck above the sub box. Make a small strip of carpeted wood and they would be completely hidden. Then fiberglass a box into the corner of your trunk and you would lose almost zero space.

I can't mount to the rear deck because nothing is even, it's stamped steel, and there are various electronic running across it. I was looking into it, but it is alot more work than needed. I also don't like running the amps into metal for odd noise issues.

I'm going shopping tomorrow //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

just cut out a piece for the other side where the amps are mount it to the box and put the amps on that like this

Xenon amps are "upside down" from the factory. The top, silver part is just sheet metal while the bottom is the heatsink. Xenons are also fan cooled.

Le sigh...

I've explained this before. The X200.4 is roughly 23" long, way too long to lay it like that, or trust me, in a heartbeat, it would have been done.

Also, both amps are jusy shy of 11" wide (depth, if you will) which gives me a combined 21-22", whereas my trunk at the back gives me 16" to play with. Not to mention that nast strut tower, and the corners I am working around.

I don't think either of these amps will ever heat up, as I'm only using 500 of 821 Benched RMS watts on the X600.1, and 400 watts of benched 938 RMS watts from the X200.4, for now.

My only concern is chassis twisting on the X600.1.

yea but he say he only want them in the way back he said he needs the rest for trunk space. like stated above you could put a false floor it wouldnt be thick considering the amps are skinny and bam amp mounted and you got trunk space

False floor is already made so that everything sits level //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I've had a 'loose' false floor that wasn't anchored down by anything but its' own weight, but this time I'm using a high strength silicone to glue it into the floor. I figure it should have flex to handle vibrations and put to rest any resonation issues.

I did alot of the fab work today, but my cuts **** and stuff is not sitting as flush as I'd like it too. I predrilled alot of holes, and am going to countersink them all, and then run some body filler/wood filler to hide them. Then I'm going to use silicone to glue the boards together ontop of the screws, and flush up some of the boards by filling in the cracks.

I think, the only thing I might need to install after the unit is together is the big amp ontop...I might not have clearance to install it in one fell swoop.

We shall see //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
