The format war is over.

probably not gonna effect me one bit. when i watch movies (which is almost never) i just rent them, watch them once and give them back. so i can pretty much just rent whatever is around at the time.
i never understood the point of buying movies. i mean, its only worth watching one time anyways //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif.
I agree. Local video store doesn't have Blu Ray but Netflix does.

haha I bet my bud $100 during a nasty techie nerd debate that HD DVD would be outta here within 6 months. That was 3 months ago hahahaha. Going to go get a nice steak on this one.

Ive been tellin everybody that had bought... or wanted to buy an HD DVD player that they were making the wrong decision. I knew it was a matter of time for blu-ray to win. Who cares though people never listen.

why? It'll still play HD-DVD's and is one of, if not the best upconverting DVD players out there.
I think in my experience the DV-48AV is the best upconverting DVD player out there...or their is this one yamaha piece that retails for like $300.

Yes I know you said one of the best...not "the best"

Pioneer Elite DV-49AV? Because I have the Pioneer Elite DV-59AVi and it kicks *** at upconverting.

The only better player at upconverting than the DV-59Avi that I have seen is my Dad's Arcam DV137

LAWL @ the GIF...

There was talk about Xbox 360 getting an external player to go with it like the HD-DVD one...but the "official hd-dvd statement from the Xbox PR Team" says they're waiting for official word straight from toshiba that they're done with the 360 player.

But to be on the real side here, don't buy anything to do with HD-DVD, unless you already have it and want some really cheap movies lol..

I don't know why people buy movies either. I really never watch anymore than 5 movies more than once.

my Hollywood Video has both, I just returned The Amateurs(GREAT MOVIE) HD-DVD earlier.
The Amateurs was really good.

I always liked Jeff Bridges, but after watching that, as well as tidbits of What's the Worst that Could Happen, William Fichtner is now one of my favorite actors.
