The difference in these clamps...?

Hokay, I know that I've asked 'what's a good clamp' in a thread a few days ago... but I stumbled upon this:

36" Steel bar clamp for $19 bucks.

The 36" Craftsman one is slightly more expensive, at $27 bucks.

At Ace, the 36" ones are $27, and at Home Depot they were $33 IIRC.

So, would that Steel bar clamp work for just regular enclosures / other small projects?

I always found the ratchet clamps easier to use. The clamp doesn't wander as much as the rotating clamping and it's quicker and easier to use with one hand.
Yeah, I can see how being able to use one hand would be a lot easier. But, there's an $8 dollar difference, I plan on getting 2, that's $16 bucks. $16 bucks is nearly half a tank of gas. Besides, my brother always helps me when I build stuff, so extra hands isn't rare. Maybe when/if I get more, I'll get the trigger ones, and once it's tight I can use the other ones.

there great so those a square and a good stiff straight edge and a decent saw&blade and tape measurer and your set:)
Yeah, I have a 3hp Craftsman Tablesaw. I need to upgrade the fence, but it works great. However, my tapemeasure just broke //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

It was great, too. It showed the incremental measurements on the tape measure. (I.E. 3/8, 1/2, 5/8) It made measuring a lot quicker.

i get the ones from home depot and do magic w/ the barcode stickers.
You have my attention.

Explain.

EDIT:: wait, do you mean switching the barcode sticker for a cheaper / smaller one?

i sort of pulled something like that once...needed a new heat lamp for my python. They had a bunch of different kinds but the one with the right metal shade couldn't handle enough power, the one that could handle the power had a huge shade...so I swapped out the shades and got the better socket for the cheaper price //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I just picked up those clamps, and some 90* degree angle clamps. I have to say, tightening the Bar Clamps seems tedious because you have to focus on the part that screws in to make sure it stays in the middle. But, other than that, it seems sturdy. Everything is made out of steel, and seems to be well constructed. I saw the Trigger-clamps at Sears, and I used them, and I think that the ones I bought are at least up to par, if not better. Seems like the trigger system would break easily where as this just seems much more hardy.

Cliff notes: 5*'s.
