The day is nearing....

He wouldn't be the rap god he is now but he was still pretty **** famous. I mean the guy got shot 5 times 2 in the head! I think his best shit was after he was shot
So it takes getting shot to be any good? I'm not purposely trying to be argumentative, I just don't think rap is the same as it was back with 2pac was around. Had he not died, he would have never gotten to be half as popular as Ja Rule, Jay Z, 50 Cent, Eminem, etc. because he always rapped hardcore, except for a couple of his joints with Dre. If you like that kind of rap, which I used to, then he was probably one of the best, but in the grand scheme of things he was fairly average.

As far as him "coming back", I would have thought he would have come back a long time ago when his popularity was at it's peak, late 90's. Now nobody really cares anymore. Maybe if he waits another 10 years, but by then he'll be rapping about Ben-gay and Rascal scooter drive-by's.

THE MAN IS DEAD

nah... Tupac, Elvis Presley, and Jim Morrison all work at burger joint in Booney Virginia //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I mentioned the getting shot becuase IMO Tupac is one of the realest rappers to come around. I cant stand fake music and fake rappers like ja rule and shit.

In terms of 2Pac being a second-rate rapper....if you look at it from a purely techincal standpoint, that's a valid argument, and one I agree with. He was never a God of multi-syllables, breath control, extended metaphors, cadence, etc. etc. But, as we all should know, this doesn't make you a "first-rate" rapper. Look at Eminem, from a technical standpoint, he's probably the best out there. His flow is flawless, he can ride a beat better than anyone out there, he's got multi-syllables out the wazoo, and he still hasn't made a great album, or hell, an album with any form of replay value. His music is just way too inconsistent. Now look at 2Pac, from a technical standpoint, he's nothing special, but he's made great albums. Before he signed with Death Row, he rapped about real issues, he rapped about topics you could relate to, he rapped about politics when everyone else was rapping about guns, and most of all, he made music you felt in your heart. Me Against The World, 2Pacalypse Now, and Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z are just great CD's in my opinion. There's no marketing hype, no "catchy" songs made because a record executive said there needed to be a popular single, there's no forced collabos with producers, and basically, there's no bullshit. That was when 2Pac was 2Pac, i.e. Panther Power, Young Black Male, Trapped, A Day In The Life, Words Of Wisdom, Temptations, Keep Ya Head Up, Brenda's Got A Baby, Case Of The Misplaced Mic, Unconditional Love, Let Knowledge Drop, Dear Mama, Papa's Song, My Burnin' Heart, Strugglin, Me Against The World, Pain, So Many Tears, etc. etc. Those are just off the top of my head. Once he went to Death Row, he became obsessed with the thug image, mainly because of Suge and his massive ego, and his music (and eventually his life) went down the gutter.

To sum it up....is 2Pac an amazing rapper? No. Was he a great artist? Yes.

R.I.P.

I agree.

Like I said before, if you like that kind of honest, hard-hitting, real-life rap he was probably one of the best.

thats just like the 9-11 stuff, how all the planes add up to 11, how all the passengers add to 911, how everything adds up to 911, its just really weird. Does anyone know where he was burried?
