The Biking Thread

haha did you have to do 'the walk of shame'? aka I am too out of shape to ride the bike up the hill?
after halfway i did. those things are so uncomfortable, like i couldnt peddle sitting down, and when standing i just felt dumb. and we were going to the store to get a lighter so we could pop fireworks, and they wouldnt sell one to us b/c we were minors. and then we got the cops called on us for popping them later in the night.

We've had this talk over at SSA but not here(as you stated). I've been wanting to get into mountain biking for about a month and a half now. I've started reading forums, magazines, and gather info from people over at SSA and RL bike shops, friends, etc.

It is really the first sport that has interest me in a long long time. I've been looking at specialized bikes. I road my friends Specialized rockhopper last night, and the only thing that was an original piece was his frame. Everything else has been upgraded, lol.

Oh I also got to learn how to do those clip in shoes. I almost fell but I caught on quickly. I plan on having a MTB hopefully by the end of summer.

I first started off riding bmx, mosty street and dirt. After that I did some X-country mountain biking then some freeriding. Then back to street and also riding x-country at the same time. Worked at a bike shop as a mechanic for 4 years also.

Here is my X-country bike ( Cannondale F2000SL):

Here is the street bike ( WTP frame with Profile SS cassettes, and various other SNAFU and WTP parts):

shit i thought this was a BK=Burger King thread:(

I had a Hutch, Pro Star? I think?? when I was a kid. I remember my parents paid like $600-700 for the bike and I only raced for 2 seasons. Gotta love the parents for supporting our childhood dreams:)

sooooo..... SHAMEFUL!!!!!!!!

Many other countries,,, just as good as ours (ex. NETHERLANDS)

Ride bikes as a normal part of daily life.

So strange that we make a thread about something that is efficient and responsible, that many people do daily,,,,,, INSTEAD of paying for gas.

AND i am considering selling my Trek 8700 carbon fibre bike to get a normal bike for (daily useage)

Those bikes are collectors items. In good shape they go for a ton of money on ebay. They where actually made by my house in Baltimore.

Well it was in great shape until it got stolen in about 1991:( Are they the only bike to ever have the rounded back instead if the two frame bars coming into a welded joint? Thats one thing that set that apart from my friends' "GT" and "Redline" bikes at the time

Man I loved that bike, lots of memories!

If I remember they where the first ones to do that design. There however have been a few companies since that have mocked that design. Even Hutch parts go for a ton of money.
