All of the other SAX and SAZ amps will be getting the heatsink as soon as possible. The 1500Ds and 100.4s will get it early April, with the SAX-100.2 lagging behind a bit on the revision.

How much more does the 3000d weigh? I love the inside fins, thats really got to help right there. I'm having a hard time getting mine warm to the touch, I can't imagine more cooling.

It's several pounds more -- it is quite noticeable when you pick one up that it is heavier than the previous generation.

Really, the biggest reason for the new heat-sink is for the upcoming SAX-250.2 model which, I felt, needed a beefier heat-sink to meet my standards for operating reliability. I went ahead and tooled the new heat-sink with this 3000D run to have it ready and to start transitioning the other models to the new style as well. I won't lie, I really wasn't riding the Sundown boner until a few months ago when I played with one. I'll be picking one up for my next amp without question. Great built and great design!

Won't be going with this much power though.

X2 on that... What i luv about them is:

1. They are clean and simple looking, but are awesome to look at.... No laser beams and disco balls here...

2. They stay really cool for the amount of power you get... Hint is the Heatsink, Build,and eff.

3. The efficiency on them is SICK!!!!

4. The power is clean and they do Rated and then some............

5. Is customer service.. Jacob is a good person to deal with... Busy is all hell but, if you need something, have a problem , or a question about any of the products he carries... He will help you out, and these days that aspect of a company, in most cases, doesnt exist....

Top Notch.... For sure...
