I can only move a little bit of hair right now but will be switching to a couple of tantric hdd 12's soon on 5k and hopefully I can move some hair then lol

I am still deciding what to do on ports. Thinking aero, as to what size and length not sure yet but after bracing and displacement it will be about 2.5 cubic feet per sub and will probably be tuned somewhere around 33 or 34 hz. I only have one of the 12's atm still waiting to pick up the second

Ok, the "O" face is cool for sure. But what is this obsession with Hair tricks?? I'm not being a prick, really just curious. Back when I was serious into this, it wasn't slammin hard enough if you could still breathe or focus your eyes. That is what we aimed for, not being able to see, or breathe because the bass hit so hard, Now it seems everybody just wants to blow some hair around. I don't really get it guys .... guess I'm just old ....

Correct me if I'm wrong someone, but hair tricking is a sign of a low tuned build right? Low notes push more air, thus more hair trick. I could be completely wrong though.

Edit: I can borderline to a slight hair trick on my 2 SA-12s in the 28-32 range. Advantages of having a tiny cab.

Yeah its easier to get air movement at low notes, but with enough cone area and power you can have hairtricks with 45 to 70hz drops too.

I'm about to get a 2.21 cu ft per chamber tuned to 35hz with 65in of port. Thats for two hds312's

Is that useable for those two tantrics at 2.5k rms per sub?

You would probably want to ask someone a little more knowledgeable than me but if that is 2.21 before sub displacement than you would be looking at more like 2 cu ft per sub which I think might be a little on the small side. If your box is made for the hds's it might not have the proper bracing to handle 5k

Its net cubic feet after port and sub, double flush mounted baffled with 45 degree corner bracings, cscstang makes solid boxes.

Pretty sure tantric hdd subs can work in that box. With bigger motors, there is more motor displacement, you'll be tuned slightly higher from less airspace.

shds will probably need more airspace and port area.

For hairtricks, the more port area, the better as long as you can keep tuning low.

Not always the case. Smaller port has more volicity and moves more air...

This setup has a tiny port for 4 18s driver side and does nasty hair tricks

Interesting, but he has a lot of cone area too. That helps a lot
