Anyone who says text messages are only there to make you feel "cool" are socially disconnected ****ing idiots who assume that the service is only utilized by mal-educated ethnic chicks to communicate at the mall. (and yeah, most public texting displays are done in these situations)

If you have a legitmate job you can't sit around blabbing, but at the same time communicating with friends is obviously an entertaining aspect that gets us all through life. Texting just allows you to continue that between tasks at work at your convenience while maintaining discreteness which prevents you from looking like said mal-educated ethnic chicks at the mall.

in most of the world where mobile phone charges are much higher than here, sms is the best option.

ex. in sweden i pay about 25 cents per minute voice useage.

Sms is 10 cents.

one time i got a picture of a penis sent to me, so i called them to find out who it was and who was in the picture, and it was some girl and she's like "OMG I AM SO SORRY I MUST'VE TYPED IN THE WRONG NUMBER I FEEL SO BAD"
