BOOOM
Well I got a little bit bored today and my buddy with an SX15 was over here so we decided to do a little test session between a single hAvoc 15 and a single SX15. The test is 100% completely subjective. It was a test to see which driver we thought was better suited for a daily sub. Each sub was powered by an Autotek MX3000.1 at 1 ohm, which sould do close to 4000 watts. The gains were set to 1500 watts to start things out. The box was 4.5 cuft. tuned to 34hz and it was in my 2002 Explorer. We listened to the SX first and messed around with the gains and what not. It ended up getting around 1800-2000 watts before it started moving too much.

The sound was smooth and sounded great around the peak, however the extension up high wasn't too great and "punchy" bass wasn't either. It still sounded good and got hella loud for a single 15". Now on to the hAvoc. At the same level as the SX the hAvoc was audibly MUCH louder it peaked lower, dropped lower, and had better high end extension. The "punches" were also a lot better. So we turned the gains up and ended up giving it close to 3000 watts. It handled the power pretty well too, although I would never reccomend running 3000 watts on a hAvoc. So all in all we were both completely satisfied with what the SX was doing, but we both agreed that the hAvoc kicked the **** out of the SX period. It is a far better driver for daily installs , but not to take away from the SX which is also a very solid driver.

That amp won't do anywhere near 4000watts... don't just pull a random number out of your ass b/c you dropped it to 1ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

Also, did you FINALLY use a DMM to set the gains for this test? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Also, subjective means completely opinionated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

Had to give you a hard time. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Get off your kicker IA highhorse I talked to a guy at a very reputable shop in northern ohio who ran theese amps and had them benched and yes they do near 4000 watts at 1 ohm in fact at 14.4V they did almost 3500 at 2 ohms...... I got blown up Avalanche coils to prove it.

It is opinionated..... well except for the hAvoc being a shitton louder.

I thought you were trying to say it was trying to be a fair, un-opinionated test //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif... that's why. :fyi:Doesnt take 4000w, or 3500 to get blwon Avalanche coils. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

MD.2 @1ohm gains set to ~45v and I wasnt comfertable keeping the Ava on it daily with my volume happy fingers. So I ran it at 4ohm and it liked that much better.
