probably a stupid question, but how exactly can i know if i have any air leaks in a sealed box?

i always assumed that pushing on the sub it should feel solid and not move much if any but mine kinda sinks a bit, slowly till it bottoms, does that mean air is comming out somewhere?

i know it should be airtight but i just wanna make sure its not leaking around the sides of the sub or screws.

i'm almost completed of my first box build btw.

If you have a funny feeling take the sub out and caulk the whole inside of the box and let the caulk sit for like 24 hours with the sub out due to some shit in caulk that eats the surround and then put the subwoofer back in.

To then check have the sub playing a song and feel around the box slowly for a airleak at the seams

if it isnt carpeted play a song and rub like liquid soap along the seems and look for bubbles
^^^ that is a good answer...

Like you already have done, push on the middle of the cone in gently, and if it slowly comes back out you have a leak. If it springs back out rapidly, no leak.
^^^ so is this.

if you just play the sub and feel around the seams with your hand you can feel if there's a leak. if in doubt, seal all seams from the inside and let dry. looking at one side while there's a flash light on the other side works too.
