test cca with dmm?

Loses market value, but not value to the person who purchased it before depreciation, and different people calculate it at different rates. I use things until I get my purchased value from them, or when I have a greater opportunity elsewhere. (ie upgrading the amps) I took a lot of thought before purchase and plan to keep them aprox 3 years.

Also...bonds and investments do not lose value immediately. (although that is not your point)

Edit- It seems that you over think things... It is not that hard to upgrade some things.

Take some time to think out what you want to say, then INTELLIGENTLY type it out. Either I am an idiot, or you do not make much sense there...
Or you're not a finance major //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I understand what he's saying, although it really doesn't pertain to the conversation here...

And to Flip - I'm not sure insurance would cover deadening materials - it's a little like asking them to insure an aftermarket paint job //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif But anything electrical that's put in would certainly be covered if you took out a seperate policy.

I got it after rereading it a couple times... But I do not think that much thought needs to be put into buying an altenator.

A used car for instance...when initially purchased loses value...but to who? Not the owner...it loses market value. (The price people will pay) Does the fact that people will pay less for it automatically decline the value to the owner? No.The owner depreciates the car himself at a certain value (x% per year), then sells at a certain amount. If the owner depreciated at a greater rate than the selling price, then he turns a profit, but only to himself. That is why some people say "I got my money's worth out of that car"

I can understand figuring that out for a vehicle, or something of large value, but a $300 altenator does not reqiure that much planning IMO. When you have the money for it, get it.... If you sell the car, up the price a couple hundred because you have an "upgraded altenator";)

I know...I know...my girlfriend, family, friends all say the same thing. I do it with food @ fast foot resturants too. I use the nutritional (sp?) guide to find most food/$. Some call it "mental disorder", I call it efficient.

lol....It's "car audio ready"

Back to the topic....since I can't feasibly test the CCA of a battery, what value should I look for as an indicator that it's good for car audio. I have only metered once, legal style - car off, so battery is important. If not CCA, then what?
