oh so its used for finding freq? was talking to this guy that has one. i thought he was saying it was for reading spl.

what are you looking to find out ?

diff in decibel reading between the two?

ease of use?

reliability?

My two cents is that the TL is a much better unit to measure SPL

Its more accurate, the chances of it malfunctioning is far far less than the AC units and

another key point is that its the most recognized measurement device used worldwide

now that I've taken a closer look at what this TrueRTA is.. it has nothing to do with SPL readings whatsoever so to compare it to the TL is pointless..

TL has an optional RTA add on. But it's a SPL meter first. It would be a pretty over priced RTA. TrueRTA looks like a nice basic RTA.

In live audio we use SMART RTA, because of it's time alignment features.
