Tell Me What You Think

Thank you all a lot for your help, much more than I expected!. And seems like ya'll chimed in pretty quick with that address, I just asked too quick...oh well. Anyways, Qckrun's system seems to be a pretty good deal and you all seem to agree. Would you all say that's the way I should go? Also, I don't particularly want to spend the money on kick panels to mount those speakers, are there any other suggested ways to do it? Or any 5x7's that'll fit without making any adjustments that ya'll can recommend?

Many component sets will fit in your doors...though usually a little bit of cutting is required. An adapter plate with 5 1/4" components would also work.

can you only gfit 5x7? Even if that is the smallest you can there has to be a way aroudn it, in general circular speakers tend to ahve better bass response and calriy overall and would be ideal in operation.

Personally I would recomend the 12A, hit a little lower, but that is just preference.

Another thing, do the installation yourself, much cheaper.

Oh and what car is it?

So you're saying that those components will fit with a minimal amount of fuss? Keep in mind I will NOT be installing these on my own because I don't know enough about this stuff and am definitely afraid to. So, what should I do/buy to go along with those CDT's to make sure they fit right or will they fit right into the panels I already have?

I also just realized that that total only included one pair of speakers...is the suggestion that I leave my factory installs in in the rear?

One thing about components that he forgot is a component amp which will be another 70-100. Simple coaxial speakers would be optimal in your application as components would be more difficult to install and stretch your budget(assuming you don't install yourself)

i have about 1200 in my system and i have:

alpine 7998 (retails 700)

JL Audio 12w6 v2 (retails 400)

JL 500/1 and 300/4 (each around 500)

and JL audio components (around 300)

and i payed a little more than 1200, i know you can get more for your money, shop around

onlinecarstereo.com has good prices

K, so what are some good coax speakers that won't break the bank?

You could get the US Acoustics 2080 amp off of thezeb.com 89.99$. I bought one and its nice. You could possibly spare that much too, just order it with the comps and it comes out to 232.98. Not that bad for a pare of comps and an amp. You dont really need rear speakers unless you really want them i mean, its basically only for your passengers and well really who cares about passengers lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif . But thats another suggestion.

I agree with this idea. In the end it will save you money, and you'll be much happier the first time around.

i agree with everyone else. I have that setup and it is great. Oh and making them fit wasnt too hard. I had to cut a little bit and the rest was easy.
