yes. behind the arm rest. i didn't need to cut there. i already had a hole.By ski hole you mean the hole behind the armrest? I cut the leather and rubber backing from behind that and my back bench is actually sitting about 3" forward (broken studs) and this makes a world of a difference in bass. Going to design some sort of spacer to hold the bench forward, because when I have people in the backseat it almost completely cuts off the bass like you said. also had a factory sub in the rear deck. took that out and made the hole bigger. to allow more air flow.
