Sound quality is my top priority but sometimes I just want to belt out sine waves all day and beat down the block. This what I bought to fill that bill.

It has a 3" diameter D2 aluminum flatwind with a wind height of 3" which means it's a suspension limited design. If I recall correctly PAP has given this a rating of 2k RMS but I'm betting that's conservative. Single 9.25" stiff spider.

This also has a removable top assembly so if you have any need to transfer the motor or top, this can be done. It has a four bolt pattern and uses allen heads.

A few specs: (series)

89 dB 1W/1M

Fs 36hz

Qms 8.63

Qes .77

Qts .7

Vas 2.9cu.ft

Here is a link to some photos of it being built by PAP:

This is new and has never been mounted yet. I've had about 425 watts through each coil in free-air to get an idea of it's potential and there's no doubt it's a monster. Probably 1 hour total time on the driver for testing. 10/10 mechanical and cosmetic.

$400 plus shipping.

I take care of PayPal. Thanks guys.

cant believe u want it gone already?
post the vids
I don't necessarily want it gone, as I'm sure the price would suggest. I just have way too many subs at the moment. Closet space is running low and I can always use the money.

Vids are no longer. They sucked anyway.

ya i was really impressed how well the spider was made i just noticed that the top was removable. thats sick how hard is it to put the top on when you take it off?

I didn't build this particular driver but when it first arrived I couldn't believe how stiff the spider was. Keep in mind I am not an SPL guy so I like soft spiders. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif But with that said, I'm well impressed with how it sounds. It's far quieter under high excursion that I expected it to be.

Very simple. Four bolts, nice tight tolerance.

It's easiest if you use a tiny ratchet to loosen the bolts because there isn't much room in the access slots to get a big turn on a regular allen wrench.

And of course the access slots act as under-spider cooling.

awsome sub ... but a lil pricey for the parts used just based on the T/S u provided
5.5 sealed

I appreciate your input regarding vented alignments, thank you. I was giving a rough estimate based on the numbers as I haven't yet modeled it for that purpose. It's my personal preference to refrain from using high Q drivers in vented enclosures. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

This driver is comparable to the WMD2 but with a higher BL and Xmax, in addition to the removable top assembly.

I believe it's also comparable to the Omega 18, although I don't have specs for that model to verify.

The WMD2 currently sells for $500 and the Omega for $464, so I would say my price is right on for something that still essentially brand new and offers a little more.

It's also worth mentioning that you are not required to buy it.

Sexz, even as I look at it again. Free bump.

I'm going to have to quit being tempted and stick with my APXX 18" for now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
