tc-3000 cone difference between titanium and aluminum

I've seen many different version of the tc-3000. Some with the aluminum cone and some with the black titanium cones. Is there any advantage to either of them?

Actually the titanium cone is alot stronger. Any item sold through tc with an aluminum cone had a "lifetime warranty against failure" because 3/4 of them broke.

Dont guess that warranty applies now that they went bankrupt and had all there assets sold off.

From looking at failure pics of the tc3k, the cone doesnt crack or break, its more of a surround ripping off the cone. Does the titanium remedy this problem?

The titanium cone was TCs solution of fixing the surround problem. I had both the Ti an aluminum cone an preferably i liked the aluminum cone better. The Ti cone was thin as hell, got hot very quickly(faster than the aluminum did) an to me it had a diffferent sound. Only reason i took it for the new cones was i wanted a D2 instead of the quad2 shit.

hmmm so the old 3hp is more reliable. it had a poly cone
