Taste the Rainbow (SLC install w/ pics)

Well I finally got on the task of getting my SLC's into my 1990 Honda Accord.

Although I would have liked to get the crossover out of the door, it simply wasnt going to happen without me taking my car to someone with more expertise then me, since running new wire into the car and door requires alot of work. So I had to get creative to find a place for the crossover, and with the aid of some backstraps managed to find a temporary spot until I can get my sheet metal to cover the panel and mount the crossover on.

Also note that my car is old, and has been abused over the years of me learning car audio on it. The panels arent quite what they used to be and the car definately shows its age both inside and out. But everyone starts somewhere right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Anyways, on with the pics.

a shot of the trunk, still a "work in progress" :

Since I am still in the ''break in'' phase of these, Its still early to write a review, but if what they sound like already are any indication, these components have completely blown me away. Without any major tuning, these things sound like champs. In about a week or so I will get down to the fine tuning aspects and try to write a solid review.

I have to give a major shout out to the Don (6spdcoupe). Not only was he willing to ship to me here in the north pole (Canada), but he answered anything I had to ask. Thanks again Don!

Very nice, I think your past experience has lead you in a good way. Your "lack" doesnt show at all very nice work, clean and organized to say the least !

Like az said ..nice use of the backstrapping, Ive found doing it that way has provided years of undisturbed use.

Im getting there..

nice job on the install BTW //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Do you have a pic of the bottom of that door panel? I am wondering what factory has there and if you cut any or what.
Bottom of the door is unchanged, the stock speaker grills fit right back on. The grills mesh is a tad old and is comming off, so they will both be re-wraped again very soon. Here's a pic, it looks wet, but its just the mesh comming off. And you can see the holes I made for my old rally tweet. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

Nice work... also like to see some backstrap magic. Is that a Boston Pro I see ready to go in??
It is a Boston Pro and it is already in! I just have to put the top panels of my trunk install on and hopefully get them vinyl'd as well. I'm without a router right now and my table saw connection is away on holidays, so Im set back a couple weeks on finishing the trunk.

Thanks for the compliments guys, its been 5 years with this car and it finally has a stereo and install worth showing. (soon)

Im getting there..
