what up guys just got one of these in from parts express.. looking to make a box today for this and need some suggestions. Im going to do 4 of these in the future but i have to fiberglass and that wont be for a couple of months... so for now im going to run 1 with 200 watts... sealed, ported, bandpass... just need someones input on what would make this little guy rock.. its going in a f150 4 door with plenty of room behind the front seat... thanks for the help

the smallest on the ported sticky is 1.25@32.. i thinks its two big.. this sub only came with the parameters.. doesnt have any info on sealed or ported box sizes any where.

ive tried it it gives crazy port sizes.. i must be using it wrong or something... would like to make the box today..
No you're using it correctly, I looked at it in BBP6 and it gave me a 1/2cuft box with a 4'' round port 53'' long (33hz tuning), that's just the nature of the beast when you try and port a tiny box low.

i wondered about that box calc...

if you were to put a 10" nominal diameter itll give you too much port area. but if you were to enter a smaller nominal diameter like 6.5" , itll give you less. would it matter if you used a 10" sub with teh 6.5" sizing?

it'll give you a port that will "work" tuning frequency wise, but it'll most likley be too small in diameter to support a 10'' sub and you'll get port noise at higher volume.

Oh, energizedsbs, I've modeled the tagband in my 1/4 wave/long port software (compensates for the effect of very long ports) and a 1/2cuft box with a labyrinth slot port 15 square inches in area and 50'' long will work if you want to try it.

if the dimensions are right , then why wouldnt it?

say i needed a box for a 10 at 1.0 @ 32 hz ~18 in or port., i put in 10" nominal itll put out some design with 25+ in of port. i put in teh 6.5 or 8 itll give me around what i need. couldnt i go with that, if size and tuning are the same?
