Tang Band 6x9 or 6 1/2" subs

I'm looking to upgrade the speakers in the rear deck of my Altima. The factory openings are 6x9.

It looks like I'll be going with a couple of Tang Band subs from partsexpress. I'm just not sure if I should stick with 6x9s or get some adapters and install 6 1/2" subs.

They will be powered by a Rockford Fosgate p4004 amp that does a very underated 50x4 rms.

Just looking for opinions. Price difference is only a buck or two, and I'd have to dish out $9 for the adapters.

daaaaaaaamn, those rockfords look huge. I think two 8s would be more than I want.

And dude, its a pain in the azz to get to the rear deck in our altima.

I've done it about .... 15 times now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Took me a total of 25 minutes to bolt in my most recent 8's with no one to help me hold them up while i bolted them in. and about 15 minutes to take them out.

I get my 6x9's in a couple days, I'll let you know how they sound in a rear deck set-up similar to yours, getting 100W rms

Those 8's are no longer in my rear deck btw.

nismos: where/how much for that custom altima enclosure??

I guess I really want to know if I will get better sound (bass) from the 6 1/2's or if just getting the 6x9's will sound the same.

Box is roughly $280 right now I go mine alot less because I made a deal with the company/seller. Great box though. Sounds AWESOME. http://www.supercrewsound.com has them available $270 + ship. But if you want a week or two I'll be able to get you a 10% discount.

6.5's will do well as will 6x9's 6x9's will just be slightly easier to throw in there.
