T/S params for Logitech Z-5500 (PC) subwoofer drivers

shiat, I can't think of where to post this....

does anyone have any good ideas on where I can dig up the T/S params for the driver in the Logitec Z-5500 subwoofer?

I gotta' build it a new enclosure. This thing sounds like poo.

haha, its better than the Z680

What you can try is a larger box witiha lower tuning frequency. Try 25 or 30hz. I think as it is, its ported to about 40hz or so, its a very short port and a small volume. Hopfully logic's high pass filter is not too* high and you can get some deep bass out of it.

OR

You can seal it but the filters rae not right for a sealed box so it may sound even worse.

Are you going to use the same amp?

Its best to use another and redo the EQ and what not.

Yea, I don't know what I'm gonna do. Replaced a set of Klipsch Promedia with this and I now wish I hadn't. It really sounds like there's *also* a high-pass filter on this thing, maybe as high as 50 Hz. Doesn't reach low at all, and I don't think it's the driver. Maybe I'll replace the whole box, sub, amp with custom. Was hoping to just build a new box and call it good.

Those dual 8"s sound so good. They were done right.

What the hell is with all the computer mag geeks rating the Z-5500's as "OMG tasty goodness"??? Z-5500 actually won Max PC's best of the year 3 years in a row. I wonder what material they were listening to!? These things totally skimp on the highs (need tweets like the ProMedias!), and roll off in the lows before the music does. Totally disappointed.

But, with games n' crap, the surround is stunning. I guess that's their only plus. I'd go back to the ProMedia's, but already hooked my wife's PC up with them.

simple the dont have any taste when it comes to sound quality they just like it because it gets loud (they dont care that it sounds like utter shit getting there:crazy: ) I hate logitech with a passion

One of the reasons Z-5500's were rated over the Klipsch is because it has digital inputs. It also reproduces surround sound gaming like no tomorrow. The price is also cheaper on the 5500's.

i still wouldnt replace my promedias for logitechs though. back when i was speaker hnting, i read that the logitech subs were prone to blowing.
