system advice

looking into 2 1242d type r subs. looking for suggestions on a front and rear stage to go with these. i plan on having an amp for the mids altho not sure on which amp until i decide on speakers.only looking to spend $300 tops on front stage and less on the rear (less important?) i listened to the type r comps and didnt really like what i heard. the audio store where i live doesnt have to much selection. they have some memphis ,JL, alpine and 1 or 2 more so i havent had a chance to listen to other brands. i am looking to buy online(new). id like to get some suggestions on comps and then maybe find a dealer and try to go listen to them. any help is much appreciated.

all speakers will sound different in a car, compared to a wall at the store. and when your doing 70mph wind noise etc will drown out alot of the subtle differences, my advice would be get some speakers that can take some good power, than at least you can turn things up without overpowering the 'sweetsounding' speakers.i have $50 sais no-one could identify similarly priced speakers @ 70mph in a regular car.maybe if there is a $1000 difference but between $200 comp sets i say they will all sound about the same.crystal clear music @ 70mph is way more important to me than subtle nuances parked.
