My entire system will be trashed as soon as I get new equipment.... Audiolife and BigBassMan, your help is needed... I think my Amplifier is shot right out of the water... First it was my subwoofers, then I tested my Amplifier with a friend's subwoofer and it didn't move... I'm think of buying a new set of subwoofers and an amplifier... I want my car to be really bumping the trunk area... I'm willing to spend about $500 alone for the amplifier and $600 total for the set of subwoofers. I've been directed towards Elemental Designs e12a subwoofers or Armaggeddon M12s... The only think I will keep in my system are the 4 gauge wiring, PPI capacitor, and my Alpine CDA-7893 head unit.... All advice are welcomed....

Look at the Koves, they are worth it and you can get 2 12s on ebay every once in a while. As for an amp the 1200.1 will suffice. I would also take a look at 1 Juggernaut 15. It will do more work than the 2 12s!!!

I want to move away from brands like JBL, I want to move further up... Umm Juggernauts you say? What's the price range? More opinions... I'll planning to make another step no matter the price...

On ebay: Juggernaut 15s run for around $350 a piece

Amps: Away from JBL you say??? Okay try one of the following:

1. Rockford Fosgate 1500.1

2. Harrison Labs Audio Engine (AE-1600.1)

3. Kicker KX1200.1

4. Autotek XS-1500.1

5. PG Tantrum 1200.1

6. PPI PC1400

7. JL 1000/1 (when released)

8. Memphis 1000D

9. Crossfire 1000D (great amp)

10. Zapco 6.0x

All are MAJOR power amps and are awesome. Need any more???

What is a "step up" if it is inaudible or impractical?

The JBL is a proven performer for a low cost.

If you wanted to get impractical and spend money just because, I'd get an arc audio 1500dr or 2500cxl, both are considered 'high end' but are pretty crazy in the cost department...

I'll second the brahma option... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

hrm...

maybe what I experienced yesterday is something for you...

I sat in the demo cars of Peels Selected which is my audio dealer. They had a Ford mustang with a lot of **** in it but the point is that he had two phoenix gold cyclone subs in it (they dont even look like a freakin sub) which give you a bass STARTING from 8000 hertz meaning its lower then low can be low.

They have had several people passing out after playing it for an hour or so... If you want bumping big bass then this maybe is something for you (only problem is that it was powered by an reactor amp which costs around 2500 $, the subs are 700$ a pair)

I would have to say either a pair of Adire brahma's. Or maybe a pair of blueprint 1503's.

And the biggest, baddest amp you can find //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Or if you want to really go wild and throw caution and money to the wind. By yourself several brahma's, or dd9900 series 15's and a couple harrison drag queens. I hope you have room for several optima's and an alternator or 5 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The cyclones are a unique design, have not been produced for several years now. They are required to be low passed at 80 hz, 8000 hz is in the treble region.

Their very weak in terms of power handling, and do not have the ability to get incredibly loud, but can go very low. I find it hard to fathom anyone passing out from two of the units, no matter how well installed. The design is just not for SPL duty, nor can it be, especially with their choice in materials (plastic).

Possibly add a nice mtx8100d to that lil list???//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif v.powerful, over 1500RMS and cheaper than a lot of the name smentioned. quite similkar to the bd1500 -as to which is better, see terpro's million page discussion!!! persponal choice really as they're equaly made well.

If I were building something to break glass in office buildings, I use two 15" Brahama's and 3-6 JBL 1200.1's. Now of course I would engineer an insane enclosure and run the amps at 1 ohm with a nitrogen cooling system for the amps and subs. But of course I don't have the aspiration or money to do so.
