switching from 8" to 10"

currently i have 4 re8's behind my seat. and the surround on off of them gave. this is the third one that this has happened to. and im getting tired of replacing them, plus i wanna get louder. so ive been looking at getting 3 shallow mount 10's. mainly looking at pioneer premier. would this be a good trade? i wanna pay about $100 per woofer max. any other suggestions? pretty much just looking for opinions. thanks

How much space do you have? what kind of vehicle? maybe a single hi power driver. i have a single 10" in a standard cab truck its loud n low. cost less than 300 dollars too.

You're doing something wrong if you're tearing the surround on 3 woofers now. Maybe pushing them too hard because you're expecting too much?

Is the surround ripping right on the middle of the arch ?

Maybe different 8"s. Sundown Sa-8's.

well its a combination of over powering them and i had used two brand new woofers with two used woofers. so im sure most of the stress went to the used ones, and thats why it tore. they are hard to come by, so i had to. and i have 1.3 cubes to work with. but only bout 4" depth to work with if i use 8's. i would like to use sundowns, but kinda expensive and the new ones are deep if im correct. would the 10"s be louder than the 8"s?

Get E8's if you cant find them. You could only use 2 SA-8's in that area but they would slam.
