Switching from 6 512's to 2512's.. any gains??

my friend has a 95 Monte on 22;s Walled off to accomodate 6 12's.. he currently has 6 DD 512's powered by a Massive P3000.1 .. u guys think he will see a gain if he went with 6 DD 2512's on same power, or 6 AQ SDC2.5's..

he wants to know if the extra $$$ will be worth it.. he already does 150 with the 512's legal and it will take ur breath away on music..

I told him 2 go with the AQ's bc of price.. and upgrade power in future.. he has a big batt under hood and 3more big ol G31s in the trunk,, his lights dont even flicker at full tilt

Hed prolly lose some, being as the subs now are closer to there rms than they will with better subs

u have a point Skip, he plans on running 6k before 2 long, idk if he was still gonna get 2 massives or get 3 AQ 2200D's or wut his whol deal is, but man it is unreal sitting in it.. im "ATTENTION GETTING" loud but its a whole oter world riding with him, i told em i was gonna wall my monte off with 4 hdc3 15;s and 6Kw

no gains, but if he done say a strong 5kw it would be worth it.. those amps aren't super strong or efficient... he might be getting 2500 RMS... the 2500As like about 1k a peaceand at least 2 cubes with 40in^2 of port area..

If he has DD 512s then why is there audioques in the wall?

lol i knew sumone would ask.. him, jlfx, and myself all have DDs with audioque stickers in place of the dd on the cone.. jlfx is our audio dealer/installer.. and he had a dispute with them over his dealer status, which resulted in him no longer beng a dealer.. and because of their bogus decision, we decided not to support DD at the comps and run Audioque stickers, since AQ is similar in spec, and quality and cosmetics... they are all DDs

So you dont wanna support DD but you have DD subs with audioque dustcaps. Odd, but thats jus me. I say stick with the 512s if your keeping the same power.

why not get some fi ssd's idmaxes or something so he can play notes lower than 35hz?

things are being worked out with DD, the subs are great and dont show their *** on the phone..haha.. no need 2 get rid of something that works..

the wall is tuned to 35hz.. and it has massive flex.. the low notes are crazy, it was built as a strret beater, but still does 50's on the TL.. only AQ and DD!!!

the massive puts out crazy power honelty, as long as it gives the juice then its gonna do its job.. he is pondering 6 2512s on 2 P3000.1's
