is possible to swap faces on decks?

For example if i had two deh-p860mp and two cars. Would i be able to use only one face for both receivers and keep my other face in the case at home?

yes. in fact, i know that on alpine decks u can use a different face on a different model chassis. for instance, my friend had a 7983 or something like that. and he borrowed my alpine 7995 face becuz i hadnt planned to install it soon. he didnt get the mp3 functions but it still worked. so im sure you can use one face for two same chassis.

Yep, some faces work on different models. But you can definitely use a different face on the same model, otherwise you wouldnt be able to just buy a face from a company or ebay.

So what if i wanted to get a Alpine 9855 face plate for my 9830... could it be done?

yea. but dont expect to have the features from each model combined. i think it behaves like the chassis model.

Not necessarily.
