I don't even use the ML because I bought it for my DM330i. The 703 don't need a subwoofer. The only time it gets used is when I decide "meh I'll turn it on".

The surrounds are the same reason I have the TV. I don't ALWAYS listen to music. I got the DM601S3 for $304 and the HTM-7 for $450. So, its not like I spent a lot on my 'surround' system...

First of all, this thread isn't about B&W subwoofers. Second of all, you were proved to be a jackass and WRONG on your other thread. So give it a rest. IF you knew anything or had the ears to hear the difference between systems you could tell why people still buy B&W subwoofers. Just curious do you play your subwoofer outside?

The way he tests those subwoofers is great for getting a perfect room or outside test. BUT, when was the last time you played your subwoofer outside?

When you put a subwoofer into a room you are going change your frequency response. Do you know what frequency bands go up? Do you need to do some test? Maybe build a couple of boxes?

Also check out the group delay. Ported VS Sealed... You can make a Ported subwoofer sound good but a lot of people will agree that a Sealed box will sound better in HA situation. Not if you are going with SPL.

Also, if you look at the time energy graph you will notice something. At the lower frequencies the B&W is more accurate. I wonder why? Could it have something to do with the group delay and the porting?

I can't tell you which sounds better, mostly because I have never head the SVS. But, I can tell you the ASW825 is a killer subwoofer, as long as you don't want to listen to your sub at 140+dB. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Actually bose is usually stereotyped as "NO LOWS and OVERPRICED"

Now the def tech trinity which is in the same price range as the highest end b&w has more low frequency output and its actually a couple of hundred dollars cheaper. So now which is more like bose...

b&w more over priced then def tech... CHECK

b&w no low end... Sort of check it has some but def tech trinity vs the highest end b&w the trinity wins hands down in low end output.

The tests are posted by slartibartfast. Outside is a GREAT way to bench mark a subwoofer. But, every sub is going to perform differently due to the room, no matter how much your room is treated.
