DO WORK SON!
Hey guys, well... its been deccided. I bought an L67 3800 Series II and have taken off the top end... next is cleaning, preping and reinstallation onto my block. Lookin at about 250 hp, 250 ft/lbs or torque on stock pulley. I will be putting together a guide on how to do this top swap if anyone else with a 3800 is interested. if there are any parts you want off the engine as well, PM me, I'lll see what I have. The entire lower block is for sale, everything is in good condition.

Interesting. Pics are a must! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've always like Monte Carlo's, especially the boxy 80's. I dig the new ones, just wish they made them rear wheel drive and V8 powered. If they did I'd take one in a heartbeat over the GTO...

Stock pulley is no fun. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

At least run a 3.4 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

how small of a blower are you putting on it for only 250hp?

the turbo motor in my 3.8 Buick is pretty quick....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and again its RWD ...FTMFW //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

to answer some questions... the supercharger requires a lot more than just the supercharger, Im replacing heads, Lower intake manifold, coil pack bracket, harmonic balancer, etc. Im not doing an entire motor swap because the N/A engines have a higher compression ratio, so supercharging an N/A car give you 5% more power.

Also, I am running stock pulley for now because it has stock exhaust, which is very restrictive, so putting on a smaller pulley will cause more knock.

I bought the entire engine for 700 bucks, so it is much more cost effective to do a supercharger than a turbo at this point. There are also many more mods for the M90 blower. I can send it out to get ported, put a new snout drive, etc.

This is my first major upgrade which will pave the way for future mods. Im planning on reaching 500 whp out of it when Im done... I have a lot of work to do though.

And yes, I could make it RWD if I wanted, but it costs more than its worth.

PS. the 3800 series has a lot more hidden power... check this one built by ZZP.

if your upgrading heads and intake then you should do the exhuast RIGHT away if you have the stock 1" single pipe on her then you lossing ALOT of power atleast put some headers and a 2 1/2" pipe even if its still single you can mess stuff up if you motors trying to push air out but it builds up because it gets jammed. just like a jet car stuck in down town traffic, wont be pretty:crazy://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I dont think its one inch, maybe two inch judging by the size of the headers still on the L67 I bought at a junk yard. But I am going to do a uben delete which will help a lot. before I get a smaller pulley the exhaust will come.
