Super Newb Needs Help

hey guys im lost when it comes to audio so im looking for answers here..im looking for either one 10" or 12" sub just for bass for a sealed box..not looking for anything crazy but i want it to somewhat bump from the outside(half block sound radius) ..i havent choosen an amp or box yet...also im looking to save some wieght in the trunk becasue i have a tuner car and lots of wieght is a NO NO when your lining it up(25lbs max)..$200-250 budget...i have a jl 12w1 that ive never hooked up but i dont think it will be enough for me....thanks

I would use the JL and have a proper box built. Buy an amp that puts out the same rms wattage as the sub. You will not get an efficient box, better sub and proper amp on that budget.

hes right i would go wit a ported box if you are trying to make that sub louder but i can see if you are looking for sq that you would go wit sealed you can save money by building a nice box and then i would look on ebay at hifonic amps they are pretty cheap but good power

If you didn't have a budget, look up neo woofers.

Personally, I wouldnt mix a stereo with a 'performance' car. Use this money to better your time on the track.

25LB's total speaker+MDF+amp isnt going to be much in the way of a box

Why is it that all the newbs just want to be heard coming down the street?? Wouldn't the point of buying a system, something you'd wanna listen to??

 

12" RE SE + 1.75ft3 @32hz ported box +600watts rms = Sounds good, decent output, and relatively cheap.

 

With any basic setup(sub/amp) w/ proper enclosure will weigh in the neighborhood of at least 50lbs minimum all together.

i dont think you guys are understanding what i want...

yes im a noob but in no way stated i want to be heard thumping for 2-3 blocks(I DO NOT WANT THAT).. i stated half block radius which is nothing, my stock bose can do that..i just want a lil more bass

my 25lb limit and budget is for a sub ONLY, nothin else but the sub...thanks

He wants to keep the weight down.....my AQ 15" is about 55 pounds....and he wanted to keep it around 25 for the sub......so going that way is probably not an option.
