Sundown and my DMM

Ok so I got my Sundown 1500d in today. I go outside hook it up and slowly turn the gain up. With the gain at 50%it sounds ok. I go up a little more to like 60 percent and the output gets a large boost. Sub still sound good cannot hear clipping. Plus no burning smell from the sub. I grab my dmm hook it up with a test tone and what do I get? 54volts AC. Well at 1 ohm which the sub is wired to(fi BL) it should only read around 41volts. Im thinking I must be clipping the hell out of this thing. But then im thinking with box rise the sub probably goes to 2 ohms, which makes the 50vs ok but I just dont know what the problem is, any ideas?

whoa, I've never looked at my 1500D that way. Have you tried Pm'ming Sundownz about it? He should know. I've never had any clipping problems with mine, I'm using it with a TC OEM10 wired to 2OHMs with the gain set at a bit over 3/4 in a sealed box. Never got any distortion, and the amp hasn't let me or the sub down since I got it in July.

Well youll never get the ohm you set it for, and wont know if its clipping with out a oscilloscope really

Get a clamp meter and use dmm also to see what it rises to actual imp.

I say its good to go
