sundown .5 helpnes

3k, what do you mean if you have the electrical to back it up?

At .5 Ohms the 3000D is a beast on draw power.

AKA U GNEED BIG TREE!

P.S. Your warranty's void //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

so nobody answered that question. If i watch the volts, and keep them above 12.9 will i be able to run at .5?
im pretty sure they said yes, as long as your electrical can take the current draw.

You have a 3000D and you DON'T know what he means?

He means current draw increases the lower the resistance, so at 1 ohm lets assume (for all intents and purposes) that the current draw from your charging system is 250 amps. You'll need to be able to provide that or voltage will continue to drop until that amount of current can be provided. If you drop the amp to .5 ohms you can see current draws upwards of 400 amps... so he's saying you better be able to give that amp what it needs or you'll lose voltage, and end up frying your amp. I'd assume at least 250 amps from the alternator and probably 2 big batteries would do the trick along with big 3.

i know all that BUT what i didnt know was, that if i had the gain DOWN, on the deck and amp, and lets say the lowest the volt drop goes is 12.8. is it going to be safe?

so what are you doing responding? up'ing your post count?
Yes, the one more post I got will boost me up .00001.

I posted because I want to. I am exhausted that privilege.

Yes if the gain is down it will draw less current... and you might be safe, why turn the gain down on the deck, doesnt affect current draw on ur amp.

However, thats still no substitute for having the kind of electrical to back up your amps max draw... but yeah you should be safe with the gain down... as long as voltage doesn't drop too low, I'd still be careful with it like that though, cuz that might even void your discounted replacement warranty
