Sundown 3000 going into Protection

I have a Sundown 3000 going to 2 Fi Q 12's with a Powermaster S3400 Battery in the trunk. I hooked everything up about 2 weeks ago and it was working fine and yesterday I decided to face the box the other way (towards the front of my car) and pull down my back seat. I also was going to put a fuse in between the battery and the amp on the power wire.. After I flipped the box the other way I had to hook up the wires on the box again...Then I attempted to play it and it was on protect mode..So I decided to take out the fuse I had put in by the battery (because it had worked fine before I did this) and it still stayed into protect. Then I noticed i had 14 gauge speaker wires going from the hole for the speaker wire on the amp to one side of the box..and then to the other side of the box i had 12 gauge wire..I decided to make all the speaker wire 14 gauge. After doing this the subs played for a second and went into protect..Then I turned off the car and tried it again and it worked for about 3-4 seconds. Then the third time I tried it stayed on for an hour drive until I was almost home and it went into protect and hasnt gotten out of it since..Really kind of lost right now..It seems like a wiring problem almost but I cant figure out where..

your using 300amp fuses right? also do you have an h/o alt?

that amp can draw 300 amps of current from your electrical...thats a lot...bet you your dropping insanely low and its going into protect

u better have both of those lol. 3000 watts will strain ur alt to all hell if its stock.
