suggestions for subs

hi everyone i'm greg. I'm currently building my first system, I'm most interested in SQL. I'de like to keep to price for 2 subs . Now I'm considering other options because I can no longer get decent subs for 75 a pop (unless anyone knows of any). I think my main choice would be alpine type r's or some infinitys. I've also listened to a pre-encolsed polk system, it has lower end polk db124s in it, but it sounded pretty good. I have no idea if I should get 2 12s or 2 10s, and I dont know how to determine that. I would appreciate suggestions on models and sub sizes. Thanks.

Welcome to the boards Greg! This is a great place to ask questions and get good answers very fast. Kicker CVR's are $75 a piece shipped, might wanna check those out. Buddy had a couple and they played Rock pretty good.
