Suggestions for rear speakers.

CDT cl61a's are nothing short of incredible, no they won't give you as much bass as the 6x9's though... not even close. 6x9's are going to give you near designated sub woofer frequencies at 40hz and the CDT components are gonna give you about 60hz. However, the 6x9's also require an amp which is going to run you $130 +$30 sooo... You've got a lot of info, hope you can make a decission now.

Okay I have made up my mind.

I will go with the rear 6X9 and front component setup plus an amp considering I will not get a sub.

Anyone disagree with that?

Front component: CDT CL-61a

Is there any other component that are better than CL-61a for $150?

Rear Speakers: Infinity Kappa 693.5i

Is there any other speakers that are better than 693.5i for $150?

As for amp...I'm not too experience with it. So is 100Wx4 enough for this setup?

Thanks.

US acoustics 4065 (65Wx4) is a really good amp! and under rated too, not sure by how much though. Great amp without a great pricetag. Maybe you will be forced to go with a 4085, not sure how this compares to the 4065 but it looks similar, just higher output. Not sure if its under rated though. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-wBRKP517qiK/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?I=235USB4085&s=0&wm=su

I don't know if you'll get the 110W rms out of either of these for those infinity 6x9's though... maybe with those components and the infinity's running off the same amp you can't go with anything more than the 4065. Someone else will have to answer that question who knows more about "budget" amps!

I've been visiting the board for a while, but this is my first time posting. I'll give my humble input.

Of the speakers listed, I own the Vipers, CDT CL's, CDT coaxials, and US Acoustics 4065 (among other amps).

Suggestions--

Front stage: CDT CL's or Vipers. Imho, you can't go wrong with either one. CDT's are a little easier to install.

Amp: So many, but I use DEI and US Acoustics. Both have proven to be good brands. I hear Avionxx is also good.

Rear fill: In a subless system, you want to give extra attention to your up front bass. To do that, it's best to have no highs coming behind you. I would either put the CDT CL MIDS (http://www.thezeb.com sales them separately) in the rear. They have great midbass and won't have too many highs. Even better, go with Bulldogs suggestion about the Tang Band 6x9. They are 8ohm so the hu won't push them. You'll need amp power. But those look like they could be used as mini-subs.

I would look into the Tang Bands myself, but I already have some Vifa PL 7" mids that put out crazy midbass. I'm going to be setting those up in a subless system that uses CDT CL mids up front.

Side note: For the REALLY budget minded, CDT coaxials up front and CDT mids or Tang Band's in back, all amped, would still be a good budget setup.

Hope all goes well.

Power rating on speakers is the maximum they handle, not how much they "need". I run my Infinity 6x9's off the HU rear channels and they're great. The fact that they can handle a lot more means you can crank the bass up a bit without hurting them too.
