I dont understand the CDT boner. From what Ive read from people who truly spend time with audio have some rather negative opinions of CDT and their performance.

yeah i've heard the same, somebody with a true SQ setup in his car he had DLS system all around, he told CDT sounds fake ..lol

Agreed definitely no on the cdt. They do get recommended a lot. But I imagine most of the folks just spout off what others have said. The ones that recommend them after hearing a set have no idea what a good comp should sound like. The previous mentioned PG are some of the better ones for a tight budget. Crescendo Audio :: Component Speaker Systems Are about the best sounding up to $100. They usually have b stock which would help your budget. It would be a scratched package or bent grill. They would range from $60-80. You just have to email them to see what they have.
