subsonic filter??

ive heard that using a subsonic filter in a sealed enclosure has no use because the sealed enclosure doesnt allow the sub to have too much excursion. the sub sonic filter is mainly used for ported enclosures. is there truth to this statement?

i have a 10" Q in a sealed enclosure off 1200watts what should i set the sub sonic filter to?

SS filter in ported is to keep it from playing too much power below tuning, which could hurt the sub. SS in a sealed is more to help efficiency, so that it doesn't play notes that are inaudible. Sealed you dont have to worry about unloading because there is always support behind the cone.

For your Q, I would set it somewhere mid 20s

i'd say set it at 20. no higher... no lower.

I had an Fi Q on 1200 watts in a sealed box and turned the subsonic as low as possible
