Do you have a sealed or ported box? If ported, what frequency is it tuned to?

If you have a sealed box, then you don't need the subsonic filter. You can turn it off, or as low as possible.

If you have a ported box, then set the subsonic filter to as close to your tuning frequency as you can, or a little bit above.

No that is wrong. It also depends on how steep the slope is on the filter. Generally 3-5hz below your box tuning. If you have a steep slope on the filter you can stay closer to 5hz below tuning. If your box is tuned to 35hz set it around 30hz.

My box is tuned to 33hz. On my amp you cant really tell where it is set too. It starts at 20 and goes to 50 with no markings inbetween.

if it starts at 20 and goes to 50 then between the two would be 35. you gotta just kinda of guess and do some math if there isnt clear marking.

Ok ill do my best, I guess I just need to see how far the knob moves in each direction and put it in the middle.

in the end, you're just going to turn the knob until overexcursion goes away.

the goal is to set the SSF to the lowest frequency that prevents overexcursion. its easy by trial and error.

people will give you formula's, like 5hz below tuning, 3/4th of tuning, 1/3rd octave down (0.79 time tuning), and numerous others. from that, you'll look at a knob with no labels in between and guess where this arbitrary number is. basically, the "forumulas" on the internet will tell you to pick a number that is arbitrary, then guess where it is on a knob...

one could only guess that 35hz would be 5/8th of full turn on this knob.
