Subaru fans..LOOK!!!

Although this car MAY be real, that first pic is a definite photochop

Look at the wheel wells, literally ZERO clearance, let alone the half *** job with the rear quarter panel and front wheel flares. The tires are ON the opening

And what about that line on the wall that you can see in the "drivers" side window? If you look at the wall, look at how far apart the lines are. Then look through the drivers window, and look at how close they are.....

Look at some wind tunnel tests and you'll understand exactly why Subaru makes the hood scoop so high ...

id also have to say for forced induction, the intercooler is right behind that hood scoop. correct me if im wrong?

The reason the intercooler is there is so they could have a shorter front-end and so they could position the weight closer to the center of the car ...
It's actually not a good place to put an intercooler from a performance stand-point because the heat from the engine transfers right up into the intercooler, reducing the IC's effectiveness ...

Anyways, yes, the hood scoop is there because of forced induction (why else would you have a hood scoop ?), but that's not the reason why it's up so high ...
Is it because the air flow is forced up by the front end, thus the scoop actually has to be higher to get any kind of significant airflow?

BTW, that pic is photochopped //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

im suprised no one even made mention of the offset on the rear wheels... no way a 4wd car is going to have lip like that on the wheels...

the heat may hurt it a bit, but the legnth the air has to travel makes up for it...

why?

look at that pic of the car standing stillon page 2 and tell those look like the same offsets //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Not to mention the rearend on the still pic is COMPLETELY different from the moving pic on page 1. Just look at the taillights.

i wasnt doubting the ps after tommy pointed out the line through the window...i asked why about you saying "no way they'de put an off-set like that on a 4wd car " or whatever...

The heat kills power WAY more than saving a couple feet of piping ...
Why do you think pretty much every drag WRX has a front-mount intercooler ?
because you cant put a uber-huge intercooler under the hood //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

While that is true, the reason an STi is noted as being very responsive is because it has the top mount intercooler. If you put a FMIC on a stock sti, you gain a few HP yes, but the car will not be as snappy. Reason: More piping results in a larger airspace to compress, so you get more turbo lag.

The reason for a front-mount isnt because it cools better, its because it can be made larger since there is more real-estate available.

This is why it is rare to see a stock STi with a FMIC, it doesnt help. The stock IC does the job until you get over about 17psi. Even then, aftermarket cos are making bigger TMICs, which are good to 18psi, then from there you need a front-mount.

Even sitting idle in traffic, i havent noticed my IC getting heat soaked. It does a very good job of keeping the intake charge cool.
