Sub suggestions?

Hey everyone! I'm new here but I always use this site when I need questions answered. I'm getting a 2012 Hifonics Colossus and I was wondering if anyone had a few good suggestions as far as what sub I should run on it? I will be taking advantage of the 2 OHM bridged mode so the sub needs to be either DVC 1OHM or DVC 4OHM. I have somewhat strict space limitations so it can only be a 12" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Anyway, I'm looking for something that has ~2500 - 3000 rms... Any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate it!

I'm not sure what your budget is but do yourself a favor and stick to a setup that is at the very most 2k. You can get plenty loud off of 2k if you build your setup to be efficient. With that being said I would try and see if you can pick up a used audioque AQ2200D they are some great amps and very efficient which means your electrical won't hate you for all the current draw.

If you are only looking for a 12, I would try and find a DC level 4, sundown Z, DD 9512, Fi BL, SSA xcon, or an Fi Q. Ideally it comes down to what kind of sound you're looking for. Do you like a lot of lows? Are you picky about how good it will sound in terms of accuracy and frequency response? (If you listen to rap the answer to this is most likely 'no').

For everything, if you buy used, expect to pay around $250-$300 for a solid 2k amp, $250 - $350 for a nice sub, and at least $150 for a beefy used battery in the trunk, not to mention the cost for wiring.

Thanks a lot for all the suggestions guys! Basically I already have my electrical done. I've got a 270 amp alt from dcpower, a kinetik hc1400 up front, and an HC2000 in the hatch. All wired with 0 awg. Big 3 done as well. My current system is a hifonics 1608D powering a 12" FiQ. I was very pleased with both sub and amp. I'm looking to stray from the SQL scene and give SPL a try. So as far as accuracy and cleanliness goes, i do care about that but not nearly as much as before. The colossus is extremely efficient as well. 86% and the 2 ohms bridged i believe. So i was just looking for something to pair up with it..
